Construction and Facilities Management
Program Description
The Construction and Facilities Management (CFM) program at Brigham Young University–Hawaii prepares students to become Christlike leaders in the planning, construction, and lifelong maintenance of the built environment. Rooted in principles of teamwork, integrity, and international collaboration, the program emphasizes proficiency in project planning and management practices for careers in business, government, non-profit, and Church organizations.
Within our courses, students gain a foundation in construction materials, building systems, architectural plan reading, estimating, scheduling, safety, sustainability, project management, and procurement. The curriculum also integrates elements of business management and teamwork practices, preparing graduates to work effectively on both the Owner side as well as the Builder side of property management.
Graduates of the CFM program are prepared for professional careers in project management, procurement, real estate development, facilities operations, safety, and sustainability. As our students progress forward, we aim to align our goals with the University's mission that CFM students become “lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ and leaders in their families, communities, chosen fields, and in building the kingdom of God.”
